St. Patrick's Day Irish Soda Bread with Apple Butter Glaze

🍀 Irish Soda Bread with Apple Butter Glaze 🍀

Ingredients:

For the bread:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, cold & cubed
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup raisins (optional)

For the glaze:

  • 1/4 cup Dillman Farm Apple Butter
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions:

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2️⃣ In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
3️⃣ Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4️⃣ Stir in buttermilk and egg until just combined. Fold in raisins if using.
5️⃣ Turn dough onto a floured surface, knead gently, and form into a round loaf.
6️⃣ Place on a baking sheet, score an "X" on top, and bake for 40–45 minutes.
7️⃣ While baking, mix Apple Butter, melted butter, and honey for the glaze.
8️⃣ Brush the warm bread with the Apple Butter glaze and let cool slightly before serving.
